Frequently Asked Questions » GBooky
Ever felt like you were being cheated out of your winnings? Ever thought that you shouldn't lose money just because the system was unfair? There is a solution! GBooky, an online betting system from GamesTV.org, is specifically targeted to offer betting relief across a range of games, leagues and skills.
GBooky is automatically enabled for every gtv match allowing you to use your knowledge of the game scene and make those fake-millions. You could even play the luck game and gamble.
More information on how GTV's betting system is based can be found here.
What are the odds?
Just like many online gambling networks, GBooky offers users odds based on the percentage of votes received per team. The more votes a team receives, the more likely they are considered to win; thus reducing the available prizemoney. Of course if the unlikely team wins; some big payouts are on the way.
Viewing & Making Bets
To view the current kitty and available winnings for any match, simply navigate to the matches information page and scroll down to the Bets section. From this section you can view your current pot and how much money you currently own.
Making a bet is easy. Simply click the checkbox of the team you think will win, enter an amount you'd like to bet and click 'Place bet'. The amount you bet will instantly be removed from your pot. When a match is marked as finished you will receive any possible winnings (= your bet * odds) or permanently lose the money you bet.
As long as your pot balance is below 100, we will donate 5 per day to you so don't worry about bankruptcy.
In the event a match is cancelled, forfeited by a team or deleted from GamesTV.org, you will be refunded all money you placed on that match. Games simply moved to another day or date will take your bets and the money you invested and will count odds and winnings as normal.
Pulling Out
In the event that you no longer wish to take part in a betting session for a match, you can cancel your bet in the same spot you placed it.
Climbing The Ladder
Each bet you win or lose will affect your total amount of earnings which will affect your place on the GBooky ladder. Of course, it's nice to throw all your money into one pot and bet like crazy but be wise.
To check the GBooky ladder, follow the GBooky link on your usermenu when logged in.
Negative gbooky-balance
As you might have noticed, some users - or even you yourself - got a negative balance on the gbooky-account. This is due the fact, that we want to prevent users from trying to cheat additional money onto their accounts by manipulating matches.
Here is a short example of how a negative balance comes off:
- Let's assume you got 100,00 EUR on your gbooky-account.
- You bet those 100,00 EUR on one single match with odds of 2:1.
- You win the bet and earn 200,00 EUR.
- Now you bet those 200,00 EUR on another match.
- In the meantime the score of the first match gets corrected in favour of the other team.
- This means, you lose the bet and also your money.
- Since you've bet 200,00 EUR on the 2nd match and lost the 1st one, you have bet 200,00 EUR more than you actually own.
- If you also lose the 2nd match, you owe 200,00 EUR to GamesTV.
- In case of a cancellation of the 1st match you would still owe 100,00 EUR to GamesTV.
As you can see, basically this works like a normal real-life bank-account - except for the fact, that it's just e-money. ;)
How can i prevent my gbooky from getting a negative balance?
24 hours after a match has been finished, it is being locked from any further administrative operations (score correction, lineup change, ...) by the requestee (this doesn't include the GTV-staff). This means, even if you win a bet, the match might still be edited/corrected (due whatever reason) within those 24 hours, which could make you lose your money. Thus you should always keep a small amount of money (depending on your total capital and your open bets) on your gbooky-account, even though a match is so tempting, that you would want to go all-in. After those 24 hours have passed, it is pretty unlikely, that a match gets edited/corrected by the GTV-staff, thus your money is 'save' now and you don't have to worry about losing it again.
It wasn't my fault - can you give me my money back?
No. You are responsible for your gbooky-money. Just bet deliberately.
