Frequently Asked Questions » Our Private IRC Channels
If you're reading this FAQ it means that your account has access to our private irc channel.
All information you get from any of our private channels is confidential and should not leave the channel.
Here is how to join them (also check out irc message forwards).
1. Fill in your quakenet auth
Go to http://www.gamestv.org/myaccount/profile/ and type the given quote into your irc client, in this case: '/msg GamesTV .linkauth 174 asdf'. You need to be authed in order to get this working!
This quote is just an example, put your own phrase there!
2. Ways to request an invite to the channel(s)
Every time you join #GamesTV.org with a valid auth, you'll automatically be validated and invited to the coresponding channels. This is the easiest way - if you make sure that you're authed before you join any channels and autojoin on invites then this will be fully automatic for you.
You can also request a manual invite if you were not authed when joining the channel. The first way to do this is to write .login in #gamestv.org - you should recieve a welcome message and an invite from our botGamesTV.
If you want to request an invite from one of your scripts (perform) you can also request the invites silently in private. Do do this simply message any of the ChefToni bots with the following message: /msg GamesTV .login. The bot will respond with the same message as above but will also respond to you through a private message.
3. Auto joining
with mIRC you can just open your script editor with Alt + R, select the "Users" tab and copy this line into it:
36:*!bot@www.gamestv.org
then chose the "Remote" tab and copy this line into it:
ON +34:INVITE:*:/join $chan
close the windows by pressing "OK".
Everytime the bot invites you, you should join automatically.
4. Problems
If you have problems with the bot (for example its not responding) we might experience some technical problems - we'll try to resolve it as soon as possible.
If the bot tells you you're not authorised to join any channels but you're sure you've filled in all the required information then the bot might have a "negative cache" on you. This happens if you just recently filled in your data or gained access. In this case you should simply retry one of the above methods after 15 to 20 minutes.
See you in #gtv.sa ;-)
