Quakecon's decision to venture into the 5v5 world might have left many with a bitter taste in their mouth; but the full cuisine is yet to start this week.

In the meantime, however, clans that are simply unable to pack of to Dallas have been spoilt for choice in the absense of an official ClanBase SummerCup.

mt toxic and be Nightraver stepped in first with the ET Summer 06 cup; a 5v5 cup making use of a few well known maps plus an earlier dismissed sp_delivery.

Unhappy with only a 5v5 cup running this summer, de FlyingDJ and de swine applied the pressure by running the ever so jovially titled "Hot Cup of E-Tea"; a 6v6 cup with some strange and wonderful maps.

Both cups are set to run pretty much parallel and one can't help but think it's a bit of a battle to prove which is more popular; 5v5 or 6v6. A handful of clans have even entered themselves into both cups.

toxic and Nightraver's 5v5 cup today announced their challenge rosters were online. Teams can now challenge each other for the first matchweek. More info.
