When a major sponsor was announced that would send the five-man Crossfire lineup to the states for Quakecon, the sponsor requested that their presence would not be known until the team entered the final rounds of the tournament.
ATi Technologies is a clear leader of an increasingly developed graphics market. The success of their Radeon series shot ATi's name into billions of homes across the world and they continue to grow. The recent collection of AMD proves they aren't planning to die down.
Quakecon is sponsored by a collection of various sponsors and trustees; one of which is Nvidia; now it seems to be somewhat clear why ATi wanted to remain anonymous.
