Ok, i can't get everyone, put i picked up one important person for the international CoD2 community to get his oppinion on the running OC, EC and ofcours his works. Noone else than junk52 theatre's sEC was next to me, to state his oppinion on my questions.
For the upcoming match versus check-six, i caught everything i can get out of him.
With one of the most important and recently most up2date community pages, junk52.com, we don't have just another clan in this eurocup. With the manager and player sEC, they are doing very much for the scene with tons of newsposts, articles and more to get you right on the current activities in european's clanscene.
The interview:
Hallo sEC, thanks for your time to state me some answers for the EC page. Please introduce yourself.
Hello, my name is Antti Sinisalo, and i may be better known as "sec" for all you readers. My current age is 21 but im turning 22 next
August. I am currently playing Call of Duty 2 with my team junk52 and besides playing CoD2 competitively, i am acting as a
freelance www-designer aswell as Business Information Student in Laurea University of Applied Sciences.
You are the manager of junk52 with 2up next to you. Two season ago, u recived much attentions with the german ET squad, why did j52 looses their interests in this game?
The .ET team we used to have in our organisation, was certainly one of the best teams within the whole Europe, and we are very thankful
for everything they achieved with us. However, as a game, Enemy Territory is not a game that appeals the public audience the most, nor is
it one of the more popular games either, and therefore we decided to concentrate only to our own interests, which is basically Call of Duty 2
only.
At the moment, you have the one and only international community page for CoD2 with the fastest updates and news. With the version 3 of your page, you came back to the common clanpage structure with your typical skills of design, in an attractive way ofcourse. For me, it looks like you are the only one posting there seriously and active, how much time do you invest there and who is supporting you?
Yes, as a freelance designer i pay a lot of attention to my progress as a professional designer, and junk52.com is only one of the projects
i update to keep myself up to date about new IT-technologies and to learn new things. Some time ago i used to be the one and only to post
on the site, but nowadays i have people like cl1max, sopranch and ethooo helping me out, so it ain't that bad anymore. Still, i need to spend
something like 2-3hours a day to only manage and administrate our website, which is a lot of work if you ask me. But, what i do i receive
a great satisfaction, and that is why i still keep doing it.
You've made a logo for your page, what is the idea behind it? Why did you made one?
It doesn't really have any concrete meaning in it. It's only a piece of something, with few fragments taken apart of it. Somehow
abstractions like that reminds me of the name of our team, and that is why i chose it as our logo. And it also looks k3wl, thats why :P
Whats the aim, you and junk52 is going to reach? Is it to stay at one game only or will we see CS, Q4 and other games in your roster? What are you thinking about the recent E3 Games, especialy ET:Quake Wars?
Currently we have no plans to expand our category of played games. However, the new upcoming games like UT2007 and ET:QuakeWars you mentioned,
looks and what i've heard, will be nice. However, we have no concrete plans regarding those or any other games at the moment. The only
thing we are aiming and trying to reach currently is as great success as possible in the sector of Call of Duty series.
You've reached place 7 at the playz.se Lanevent, the lan was covered on manny pages and it was one of the recent main events for the CoD2 scene. You made the design and showed again your power, you spent in the community, anyway, your aim was to get on a better place but finally, your motivation and your bootcamping wasn't enough in front of that event.
You have gained the direct invite for this euro cup, which events were there, you would say "They are important for the scene"? And is there anyone else doing that much as you?
Yes, 7th place at Playz.se LAN was a bit of a disappointment for us, but neverthless we had some great matches there, aswell as individual
performances, and the time overall we spent there was nice. The CB EC XIII is the one and only we are currently concentrating on, but leagues
like TmGL aswell as the upcoming TeK-9 LAN can be categorized as "important events". And what comes to who does a lot and who doesn't. Surely
there are people who are doing a lot for the community, just like i do or atleast i try to, and i am noone to judge who does the most or more than someone, all i can
say that i am here to do whatever i can to make this community to grow and expand from it's all aspects.
Next to those, there is the ESL with its events too, is it an interesting league for you or when will it be interesting to join there? Sure, you will say "omg, ESL, we have so manny other events, how can we handle", but that's not the point, as we can see in the cs eurocup, topclans like mousesports and alternate.attax dropping out, cause there is not enough money in the CB, what is the future league?
ESL is a good league, no question about that. But it is currently mainly occupied by german teams and therefore i see no reason for a
all-finnish team to compete in it. However, if it becomes more international during the upcoming months, i am sure to give it a try. For me, CB EC
will always be if the hottest, but one of the hottest online leagues only because of it's long history and traditions.
What's your personal opinion about the eurocup and opencup, the varieties with the settings in all the different leagues. Will it be a problem in the future? Hitlib is a debated problem for now, the netsettings, graphical tweaks and the weaponsettings are different in almost every league. Should it be all the same for europe? And isn't it boring for you as CoD2 player and for the upcoming viewers on the CoD2 tv servers and currently running streams?
I don't like the fact that all leagues run different settings. Or atleast if these leagues are ran by same organisation and have atleast
somekind of a connection between them, like EC and OC. I would like to see more similarities in OC and EC so the "less-skilled" teams would feel
more homely playing in OC because they couldn't get into EC. Atleast mr15 rule is something which should be used in both.
Do you know anything about the modmaking community? About an upcoming CoD2 tv mod as it was in the last edition?
I know basically nothing about Modcommunity of CoD2, except PAM, which is enough modding for me so far. Altho, a CoD2TV is a must for
the community to progress and reach a bigger audience.
To get back to junk52, you have 1 win and 1 draw against logic. After the win against h2k, they whined and flamed you, but this doesn't matter since it was there mistake. Another thing is the draw against logic, i've lost much cbooky money as manny others, this wasn't planned for sure. How does it looks for you? Will you finnish the groupstage with success or will it be hard for you?
Naturally the tie against Logic-Team was everything else but planned. We had prepared to the match well but we basically adapted to their
tactics and playingstyle too slowly, and that is why we made our "huge comeback" (from 9-13 to 15-15 or smth). It was basically a simple mistake
and misthought from our side which should not happen again if we are willing to proceed from our group. And no, it didn't really quite help us to reach our goal, which is to qualify from the groupstage, but however, i am still positive that we can make it to the top2 spots from our group.
Your next war is against Check-Six, right in the front, it looks to be a very hard and close match for both clans. Whats your prediction?
Check-Six will propably wildcard the match, neverthless, i expect it to be a tight match and i am sure they will be doing whatever they can to win, which most people will predict to happen, but I am confident that we have a chance to take them down.
As I already asked trigger, there will be lanfinals, such an event is a very nice and important event for a game which doesn't gets that much support by it publishers and developers. Since there were already such finals in CoD1, what do you think, how important are they and will you reach them with junk52?
LAN-Finals is absolutely great thing for Call of Duty 2. As we already saw, teams like RAW and Dignitas were "reformed" just because of
this kind of event and it is really helping CoD2 to progress and get the bigger audience which it requires. I am currently very doubtful about
our possibilities to reach the lan finals, but what kind of leader would i be if i didn't feel from the deepest corners from my soul that we will make it?
Thanks for your time, how's the weather in finnland?
Today it has been pretty bad, a little rainy and such, but during the last weeks it has been good.
Any greetings you want to send out?
Ye, greetings to my new and old teammates in junk52 aswell as our mainsponsors, Vault5, Ulti-mat and Level7.
Oh and a last question, where can i find some german mebers for my team?
German members grrrrrrrrrr. German members are bad for any team, so rather go crab some finnish publicheroes with cfg.fi abilities.
Ok, well i think i'll take the easy way and just announce #a.toon in an question to get some clanless players in there :) Have a nice day and goodluck against check-six.
Thanks :) And good luck searching those player :P
I hope you enjoyed reading this, stay tuned for some other intervies and coverage right here.
